A MUSICAL JOURNEY
Originally from Yamaska, a small village in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Andrée Théroux began taking piano lessons at the age of 7. She made her musical debut at 12 as a pianist and singer in her father's band. By 17, she was already performing with her sister Gynette in regional bars.
Shortly after, with her sister Gynette and François Rochefort, they formed the group Butterfly, which produced numerous singles and performed across the country in prestigious concert halls and on many television shows. The band released an album distributed simultaneously in Canada and Japan, where it won the award for Best Disco Song at the 1988 Tokyo Music Festival. A music video accompanied the song "Father."
After 12 years of touring with Butterfly, Andrée left the group to pursue her own musical ambitions. It was at this turning point in her career that she met René Beaudoin, a guitarist-singer and songwriter who would become her partner in both life and music. Together, they created their own recording studio.
Drawing inspiration from André Gagnon, David Foster, and other great pianists, as well as from popular music ranging from ABBA to Lady Gaga, Andrée now explores the world of contemporary piano. She will be releasing several original piano pieces by the end of 2025. Andrée has also co-wrote and collaborated on the musical arrangements and performed on two new pop songs by René Beaudoin, in collaboration with Wayne Routledge, a producer and songwriter (formerly with Warner Chappell Music) who has worked with artists such as Glass Tiger and April Wine. These new songs will be released early 2026.
